Findings

After 4 pyruvic acid peel treatments over 8 weeks, patients saw meaningful improvements in skin elasticity, wrinkle appearance, and pigmentation (especially for melasma). The formulation was gentle enough that no one reported discomfort, redness afterward, or darkening of skin—major wins for a chemical peel.

Methodology

20 people with sun damage, shallow scars, or melasma received four pyruvic acid peels spaced 2 weeks apart. Researchers measured changes using both visual assessment and skin-testing instruments that track hydration, texture, elasticity, and pigmentation.
