Findings

This review found that the cosmetic industry is moving away from animal testing (banned in the EU since 2013) toward alternative methods like computer modeling, lab-grown skin samples, and AI to evaluate ingredient safety. However, a major gap remains: we still don't have clear answers about whether nanoparticles in cosmetics are actually safe, despite growing concern about them.
