Findings

When injected into the skin, low molecular weight hyaluronic acid combined with amino acids boosted collagen production, increased blood vessel formation, and thickened the epidermis in 20 women over 3 months. However, ultrasound measurements showed no statistically significant change in overall skin thickness—meaning the microscopic improvements didn't translate to measurable thickness gains that imaging could detect.
