Findings

Sacha inchi oil performed as well as olive oil at moisturizing skin and reducing dryness over 14 days. It didn't trigger irritation markers (inflammatory proteins TNF-α and IL-1α) in lab-tested skin tissue, suggesting it's gentle for sensitive skin.

Methodology

Researchers applied sacha inchi oil to one leg and olive oil to the other on 13 volunteers for 2 weeks, measuring moisture levels and dryness. They also tested the oil on cultured skin cells to check for irritation.
