Findings

In an 82-person trial, a gel containing allantoin, heparin sodium, and onion extract reduced rosacea redness, burning, and itching better than standard treatments over 12 weeks. It also strengthened the skin barrier by improving hydration and reducing water loss—especially for people with demodex mites.

Methodology

Researchers split 82 rosacea patients into groups: one used the allantoin gel, another used traditional therapy. They measured redness, itching, dryness, burning, skin hydration, and water loss at regular intervals over 12 weeks.
